Mastering is the final process applied to mixed tracks before manufacture.

Generally mastering involves 2 processes. Firstly, the premastering invloves compression, equalisation, improving the stereo image, volume adjustments, limiting, adding fades, edits and noise reduction to make the songs sound as good as possible. Secondly the mastering stage is the assembly of the finished master CD. I am able to produce DDP images for CD manufacture, complete with PQ sheet, CD text, Gracenote entry and even hidden and data tracks if required.

Is is advisable to have your music mastered by a different person than who produced and mixed it, for example a song listened to in a different enviroment, with different speakers, and having the perspective of hearing the music fresh, without emotional involvement, is hugely important.

I can work from emailed files, CDs, or even minidisc, cassetts, vinyl or DAT tapes, either in stems or complete mixes.

Other output available formats are SACD, MP3 (all range or sample and bit rates), M4A, MP3Pro, DVD Audio, DAT, WAV and AIFF, up to 192khz/24bit.
